Blizzard Travel Hockey
France & Belgium – May 1–11, 2026
U17 (Birth Years 2009, 2010, 2011)
We are excited to share details about our upcoming 2026 Blizzard Europe Travel Team. This will be an unforgettable blend of elite hockey competition and cultural exploration. This special event will see our athletes play exhibition games in France before heading to Belgium to compete in an international tournament, all while experiencing the historic Trail of the Caribou as part of a unique educational component.
This is an incredible opportunity for our players to represent Blizzard on the world stage, experience new cultures, and walk in the footsteps of history. As part of our journey, we will visit all five Caribou memorials, including the former gravesite of the Unknown Soldier on Duckworth Street, honoring the legacy of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment during the First World War.
Key Details
ID Camp
Tryouts will take place at Twin Rinks on Thursday, August 21, and Friday, August 22. The registration fee is $190, jersey included. The schedule is as follows:
Day 1 – Thursday, August 21
Day 2 – Friday, August 22
Register online at www.newfoundlandblizzard.com.
If you are interested in traveling but cannot attend tryouts (due to location or other reasons), you must email blizzardtravelhockey@gmail.com to confirm your interest no later than August 20, 2025.
On-Ice Preparation
Your player’s preparation will include at least six practices, built into the registration fee, to build chemistry among the team, evaluate skills, balance lines, and sharpen performance. Given our province-wide roster, practices will typically be held over school breaks or long weekends.
Fundraising & Sponsorships
Players are encouraged to seek sponsorships to help offset costs, and the team will explore group fundraising opportunities to make this experience more affordable.
While hockey is our main focus, these trips create memories that last a lifetime. From battling on the ice against international teams to walking through history along the Trail of the Caribou, this will be an experience our players will never forget.

We can’t wait to take Blizzard Hockey to Europe and to share this once-in-a-lifetime journey with you.
